Intergenerational Mentoring Program is a reciprocal mentorship and modeling experience designed to connect youth (ages 8–18) with senior citizens (ages 65+), faith groups, cultural centers, and veteran homes. Rooted in the African principle of Sankofa “go back and fetch it” this program seeks to restore intergenerational wisdom by honoring the past and preparing youth for an informed future.
Intergenerational Leaders & Professionals
To further enrich the Sankofa Intergenerational Mentoring Program, we strongly encourage the inclusion of diverse professionals and community leaders across generations. These individuals can serve as guest speakers, facilitators, teachers, or mentors, modeling excellence, leadership, lifelong growth, and cross-generational impact from all angles
