A native of Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Sharon D. Shaw is a passionate life-long learner and accomplished professional with an extensive background in public service and higher education. She dedicated 42 years to the Federal Government, holding diverse roles in administrative support, Information Technology, and management across multiple Air Force and Navy installations.
With over 25 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Shaw continues to shape the future of technology professionals. She currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor at ECPI University, teaching Information Technology and Business courses, and as a Senior Program Mentor at Western Governors University, guiding students pursuing degrees in Cybersecurity.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Dr. Shaw is deeply committed to community service. She volunteers as a Guardian Ad Litem for two families in Florida and is a long-standing member of the Continental Societies, Inc.®, Newport News-Hampton Chapter. There, she serves as Chapter Public Relations Officer and Co-Chair of the National Technology Committee.
Dr. Shaw holds an Associate’s Degree in Computer Studies from the University of Maryland, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University, a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems, and a Doctorate in Management with a specialization in Organizational Leadership and Information Systems and Technology, both from the University of Phoenix.
She is also a proud member of several academic honor societies, including Delta Mu Delta (Lambda Sigma Chapter), Delta Epsilon Sigma, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Additionally, she is an Honorary Member of Phi Theta Kappa.
